You open a web browser, and type "http://somesite.com/SharedFiles/" into the address bar, and press ENTER? That's what you mean?
What if you browse to http://somesite.com/SharedFiles/someSpecifcFile.cfm and then http://somesite.com/SharedFiles/someSpecificFile.htm (where both of those files exist)?
